The Council’s Environment and Regeneration Department is looking for a persuasive and determined individual to work with property owners and occupiers across the Borough to improve the appearance of their land and buildings. You will need the ability and creativity to influence others and a willingness to use all of the legislative powers available to you to deliver positive results. You will also take responsibility for assessing the impact of planning applications on the Borough of Douglas and coordinating the Council’s comments, support or objections as appropriate.

 

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English, Grade C or above or equivalent and the ability to interpret and understand legislation. A full valid driving licence is also essential.

Douglas Borough Council are seeking to recruit to the above Limited Term Contract. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team carrying out a range of duties relating to the operation of the Eastern Civic Amenity site and be responsible for supervising the work of the Site Attendant. You must be physically fit and be willing to work outdoors in all weathers. A full clean valid driving and HGV licence is essential.

Maternity cover is required to assist with the provision of a comprehensive administrative and technical support to the Transport & Plant Team.  The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for all queries.  Candidates must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s which should include English and Maths at grade C, or above, along with experience of working within a maintenance workshop environment It is essential you have good communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to prioritise workload.  A full clean valid driving licence is also required.

An opportunity has arisen for an electrician to join Electrical Services team. The successful applicant will enjoy working to deadlines, be focused and passionate about their work and will have the ability to work under pressure when needed.

 

You will need to hold a City & Guilds 2360, Part 1 Certificate, or City & Guilds, Part A Certificate and City & Guilds 2360, Part 2 Certificate, or City & Guilds Part B Certificate with relevant I.E.E.I.C 17th Edition 2380 Certificate or equivalent qualification. A full clean valid driving licence is essential along with a good understanding of Health & Safety practices.

 

You will be IT literate with the ability to use mobile technology such as iPad or PDA with a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service.
