This is an established role for a suitably qualified and motivated person. The ideal candidate should hold (or equivalent to the following):

 

  • City & Guilds 2360, Part 1 Certificate: or
  • City & Guilds, Part A Certificate and City and Guilds 2360, Part 2 Certificate: or
  • City & Guilds Part B Certificate with relevant I.E.E.I.C 17th Edition 2380 Certificate

 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate good communication skills, numeracy and IT literacy as well as a positive approach to problem-solving along with the ability to work as part of a team. A full clean valid driving licence is also essential.

We are looking for an experienced Chargehand gardener to join our busy Parks Section where you will be expected to undertake work in public parks, open spaces, sports grounds, housing estates, cemeteries and highway areas. You must have previous supervisory experience in leading a team, have the ability to keep and maintain accurate up-to-date records and hold a NPTC pesticide application certificate.

 

For the above post, you must be physically fit and prepared to work outdoors in all-weather conditions. You must also hold a full clean valid driving licence.

As the Assistant Arborist you will be required to ensure the care and maintenance of the Council owned trees. You must have previous experience working in Arboriculture which includes tree climbing, pruning and planting, as well as holding a NPTC certificate in chainsaw proficiency.
