HBNL to reopen June 1

The Henry Bloom Noble Library will be reopening on Monday 1st June, with changes in place to safeguard the health of customers and staff during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

 

• The new opening hours will be 9am - 4pm Monday - Friday and 10am - 2pm on Saturdays;

• There will be a ‘one-in-one-out’ policy with a limited amount of people allowed in the library at one time;

• The use of the hand sanitiser at the entrance and the use of masks will be encouraged;

• A 15-minute time limit will be placed on library visits;

• A one-way system will be in operation and library users must observe two-metre social distancing protocols;

• A limited service will be available initially to minimise the risk of cross-contamination and spread of the virus:

• No computers will be available;

• No downstairs access;

• No toilet access;

• No access to the hot drinks machine;

• No newspapers, magazines or jigsaws;

• No reservations;

• The photocopier will be self-service only;

• Card payments only;

• No story times or events.

• Returned items must be handed in at the self-issue machine for staff to discharge and quarantine for 72 hours;

• All items must be issued at the counter.

• There will be no fines to pay on return.

 

All changes will be reviewed regularly and adjusted as necessary.
