This year's challenge was 'Animal Agents', a team of animals working to solve a library-based mystery.  Speaking at the prize presentation at Cronk y Berry School Her Worship said: 'I understand that this year is the 11th year running that the Henry Bloom Noble Library has participated in the Summer Reading Challenge.  This summer 272 children signed up, of which 152 completed the challenge of reading six books and visiting the library three times during the school holidays. I think that this is a marvellous achievement so congratulations boys and girls and I hope you are very proud of yourselves.'

Borough librarian Jan Macartney said:'Lots of the children wrote fabulous book reviews and entered the quiz and the design your own Animal Agent competition and the Hunt the Character competition was as popular as ever.

'The Animal Agents workshops, led by Shirley Moore, were once again a great success. Over the summer the children had great fun making crafts and we also had visiting presenters from the Police Dog Unit and the Manx Wildlife Trust. We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress to our "Sneaky Snakes" session.'
