ELECTION DAY: THURSDAY, 22ND JULY 2021

 


Local Authority General Elections will take place on Thursday, 22nd July, 2021. The wards that are contested are North, Central and East.

 

 

South Ward was uncontested and the elected Members are: Mr Steven Robert CRELLIN, Mr Frank SCHUENGEL and Mrs Claire Louise WELLS.

 

 

 

 

 

The candidates nominated for the CENTRAL WARD ELECTION are:

Miss Natalie Anne BYRON

Mr Samuel James HAMER

Mr Stephen Robert PITTS

Mr John Edward SKINNER

 

The polling stations for this election are: St Matthew's Church Hall, North Quay (St. George's, Quay and Tynwald Polling District) / All Saints' Church Hall, Alexander Drive (Ballabrooie, Albany, Somerset, Eastfield and Garden City (part) Polling District).

 

 

The candidates nominated for the EAST WARD ELECTION are:

Mr Andrew John BENTLEY

Mr Ian John Gelling CLAGUE

Mrs Linda Tracey COE

Mrs Angela Catherine JOUGHIN

Mr Devon Robert WATSON

 

The polling stations for this election are: Manx Youth Band Room, Derby Road (Strand, Windsor and Derby Polling District) / St. Andrew's Church Hall, Glencrutchery Road (St. Ninian's and Crescent Polling District). 

 

 

The candidated nominated for the NORTH WARD ELECTION are:

Ms Karen ANGELA

Mr Falk HORNING

Ms Janet THOMMENY

Mr Peter John WASHINGTON

 

The polling stations for this election are: Cronk y Berry School (Garden City (Part) and Willaston Polling District) / Hailwood Centre, Glencrutchery Road (Glencrutchery Polling District).

A MESSAGE TO VOTERS - COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

 

Douglas Borough Council will head to the polls on Thursday 22nd July, 2021 and as a precautionary measure we ask that voters observe the following guidance:

 

  • The wearing of masks is not mandatory but is strongly recommended, for both voters and Polling Station staff – disposable masks will be available for voters at the entrance to the polling station.

 

  • Please use hand sanitiser on entering the Polling Station.

 

  • Do not approach the table too closely. If you have your polling card, read the details to the staff rather than handing over the card.

 

  • Do not mix closely with other people in the Polling Station or immediately outside.

 

  • Do not remain in the Polling Station for any longer than in necessary to cast your votes.

 

  • Bring your own pencil to mark the ballot paper, if it makes you feel more comfortable.

 

  • The number of people entering the Polling Station at any one time may be restricted to avoid crowding; please be patient if you are asked to wait. Any delay should be minimal.

 

Voters are reminded that anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms should NOT enter the Polling Station.
