Homestay Scheme: A reminder for Douglas Borough Council tenants

Douglas Borough Council wishes to remind tenants that while it fully supports the Homestay Scheme, tenants must, under the terms of their tenancy agreement, obtain prior permission before providing Homestay visitor accommodation.

Tenants are required to remain in occupation of their property throughout the Homestay period. Failure to do so will result in the Homestay being classed as sub-letting and therefore a breach of the terms of their tenancy agreement.

Homestay requests can be submitted to the Housing Office by email at mailto:housing@douglas.gov.im, by post to the Housing Office, Douglas Town Hall, Ridgeway Street, IM99 1AD or to the Town Hall Housing Counter, opening times for which are Monday to Thursday from 11am to 2:30pm and Fridays from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

Once written approval from the Housing Office has been received, tenants will need to register for the Homestay Scheme here.
